2019 MOTY List: Sadkampf vs. Fuck-Its

6. Jollyville Fuck-Its vs. Sadkampf SUP 1/20

PAS: This was a total blast, had a very JAPW arena brawl to it, as Sadkamph jumped the Fuck-Its at the bell and it was fully nuts from the start to the finish. I love the Fuck-Its, one of my favorite tag teams in the world, and they had some great stuff here. Nasty Russ took a big time thumping, but also hit his cannonball and a beautiful step up moonsault.  As one might expect T-Money was beasting, he caught a Garinni flip dive with one arm, and powerbombed him on the apron, and he speared Ku off a stage. Sadkampf whiffed on a couple of knees, but besides that were really fun as they kept the pace humming and hit some really nasty double teams, including a double chop right to T-Money's neck. This never slowed down and they didn't do a series of 2.9 counts with agonized fatigue selling, instead they just threw at each other until someone couldn't get up.

ER: I don't believe I've seen Sadkampf as a team before, and I suppose it's a play on Garrini's puppy dog eyes? No matter the reason for the name, they're nice complementary partners and they worked as if they'd been teaming for some time.  They had a bunch of timed strikes and attacks that all fit nicely into the match, never came off like they were placing human clay to knock over (think of those Eliminators showcase matches). There were a couple clunky moments from Ku, a big alley oop knee that missed and some ropes slippage, but Ku always has a couple off moments. He's a guy I like thought because he always soldiers through it pretty nicely. That kind of stuff will get cleaned up in time, but the fact he can get up and not halt the entire match to awkwardly go back to the planned stuff, that's useful. Plus, if he never grows out of flubs, he can just start working those moments into matches, using them as natural momentum shifts. "Tough guy who is sometimes clumsy" is a gimmick that sounds fun to me as I type this. But Ku is a real freight train, works fast, and I like how he comes off as if he's not thinking, just acting. Russ is a real loon and leans way into some hard damn shots, and takes a couple ridiculous suplexes to get things back on track early. After Ku slipped off the ropes Russ basically runs in and eats a brutal dragon suplex. Russ also has fun crazy offense, he's really become one of my favorites the past couple years. Totally agree with Phil about T-Money, too. He comes off like a real Keith Lee bulldozer, and he's not close to as big as Lee. Loved Garrini holding on too long on a flip dive (also, Garrini going for a flip dive!!), slowing him down so T-Money could catch him and powerbomb him. T-Money makes great faces while taking hard strikes, before he fires back harder. All the stuff up on the staging area was great, Ku's knee off of there looked crazy from the angle we saw it, and Money's spear looked even crazier. I could watch a half dozen more variations on this sprint.
