Fit Finlay v. Masaharu Funaki Reslo 3/14/89 -GREAT
What a weird match to show up in my youtube feed. Finlay vs a pre UWF, pre Pancrase Funaki. This wasn't the nasty shootstyle brawl in might be in our dreams. Instead Funaki is working as a Japanese junior, doing backflip counters to arm bars. Finlay is great working as a bully base for a spunky junior, and he pounds him around the ring. Seemingly an upset victory with Finlay in control pounding away at the kid, before he flips out of suplex attempt to throw a lightning quick gut wrench for the win. Really neat TV match, I am really looking forward to digging into the Reslo.

If you're continuing on the Reslo path, there's a really fun Finlay vs Kid McCoy cage match on YouTube. It's a ten minute competitive squash, with some nasty cage shots from Finlay. Kid is a fun over-matched, but spunky, face here too.
