WWE Big 3: Lorcan, Gallagher, Gulak 2/9-2/15/20

Oney Lorcan/Danny Burch vs. Gallus (Mark Coffey/Wolfgang) NXT UK 1/18 (Aired 2/13/20)

ER: This ruled. Lorcan and Burch worked this like stiff babyface Bushwhackers, yelling like idiots but dishing out uppercuts and headbutts instead of battering rams. Wolfgang has been a guy really shuffled down the card since the NXT UK inception, starting out as a guy in the title picture and then settling in as the third man in a BluesHammer Fan Club stable. But Wolfgang brings this pitch perfect WCW Power Plant energy, big Rick Fuller/Kenny Kaos vibes, and that's a great thing. He was a fun wrecking ball and really did work like a Kaos/Fuller fusion, which is "my specific wheelhouse". They worked this back and forth, as opposed to Burch or Lorcan getting worked over for a length, so we always kept things fresh with new match ups. Wolfgang and Coffey are a good team of bruisers, and Burch/Lorcan can both go toe to toe with bigger guys, and I'm glad they went that direction. We got a couple of big Burch headbutts as cool cut off spots, and one of those nice crash spots where two guys fall into the other two guys to break up a pin attempt. I'm going to be into a tag match where the bulk of it is guys crashing hard into each other and knocking dudes off the apron to try to snap off a couple double teams. That's what they focused on, and it worked.

Oney Lorcan/Danny Burch vs. Samir Singh/Sunil Singh 205 Live 2/14/20

ER: This was an inoffensive and satisfying, but kind of bare minimum tag formula. The Singhs have been overexposed on 205 Live the past couple months, they could really stand to be rotated out for a bit (the way they've seemingly done to Gallagher and Gulak). So the Singhs cut the ring off in sound but uninteresting ways, keeping Lorcan from tagging out. It was fine, but never really moved into 2nd gear. The eventual hot tag to Burch was decent, Burch came in with a couple nice punches and a big German suplex, hit a big missile dropkick, and the Singhs flew around well enough for it. The finish comes a little quickly and easily (the match only went 6 minutes and I've been primed to expect 205 Live matches to go at least 14), but we never got the big exciting extended run of Lorcan offense that a lot of their tags have. Lorcan got one great last second full body extension save after the Bollywood Boys hit their Demolition Decapitation, and I actually thought they were going to be silly enough to give the Singhs the clean win. This could have been a little something more, and its quiet moments were occasionally rewarding.

You know when would be a great time to rotate out the Singhs? When you're filming in their home town, causing them to have to cut a generic "I'm glad we left Vancouver" promo to ensure that the fans don't care about either team in the match.

Still, it looks like we're getting Burch/Lorcan vs Kendrick/Daivari, which sounds very promising

Seriously! Such a weird week to have the Singhs again featured. They threw off the natural face/heel alignment and couldn't roll will the chance of them getting cheered, and really a face Singhs/heel LorcanBurch would have been a super fun one week novelty. Plus, Kendrick/Daivari are already kind of the "no offense" guys of the brand, and they're way better at being guys with no offense than the Singhs are. Two tags on the episode, both featuring no offense heel teams. But yes, I am very excited for that likely upcoming tag you mentioned.
