NWA Fusion Episode 2

Episode 2

Sean Denny v. "Big Time" Mike Booth

This is for the main NWA Fusion belt and I am excited I get to see one of my favorites Mike Booth in a long title match. He is really spectacular as a shit stirring tag guy, but I hadn't seen very much of him as a main event champion. Was really surprised at how well he performs in a big singles title match. Long section of early matwork, which was basic but really well executed. Denny is at his best with this kind of tight simple matwork. He has a tendency to get a little indyish on offense, although that was toned down a bit here. It felt like Booth wanted to wrestle a traditional title match, rather then the ROHish stuff Denny did with Wayne. Denny's kicks have gotten better as he was more poor mans Low-Ki as opposed to poor mans Gran Akuma. Booth has a really hatable vibe about him, although he toned down the shitalking and did more wrestling. Lots of cool moves by Booth, including a great Saito suplex and a pretty top rope elbow. The match really felt like it was building to a hot finish, when Mark Bravura ran in and attacked Booth's knee with a chair. The ref had to really be overly and obnoxiously oblivious to what was going on and it really cut the match off at the legs. I am concerned with the show being produced by Bravura, that we are going to keep seeing him as the focus of the shows. Two weeks in and I am sick of him, and I hope we don't keep orbiting around his shtick.

Not impressed with the Sheik again this week, really bad at doing Akbarish shtick, really feels like they need to bring back Dragan Frost as he did the leader of the misfits gimmick way better.
